MY BODYGUARD

One day,on my way home from school,I met a little puppy.
He was very sweet,but nobody wanted to take him home.
He was covered with dirt and he looked very sad.
He wagged his tail,as if he knew me very well.
"I like you,"I said.
"I will take you home."

"Oh,what have you brought home?He's so dirty,"
cried Mummy.she was very angry.
"But he won't be dirty after I give him a bath,"
I said softly.

I took him to the tap in the garden and washed him until he became very clean.
"Oh,good,"I said."Mummy will like you now."

Then he started shaking as if he's cold.
"oh!He needs warmth,"I guessed.
I took him to my bedroom and wrapped him up in a towel.
Soon,he fell asleep.

In the evening , I heard a noise from my bedroom.
"yap,yap,yap!"
"Oh!my little friend has woken up."I ran into the room.
"What shalll I call him.....?" Yes ,I'll call him Yappy,"
I said to myself.
"hello,Yappy!Come here,"I called.
He ran to me at once.
"w-what...?
Does he know English?"
I was surprised.
He wagged  his tail and looked up at me.
"He must be hungry."I guessed.
I gave him a bowl full of milk and he lapped it all up.
His tummy became full and round.

Then he pulled at my trouser leg,running back and forth.
"Oh,he wants to play now."I guessed.
So,we went outside and played the whole evening.

A few weeks later,he had grown up into a big dog.
He became my best friend.
He could understand what I said,and I could understand what he said.
Yes,we could talk to each other!
I knew when he was hungry,angry,sleepy,or sad.
Yes,I knew.
I loved him so much and he loved me too.
And he looked after me.
Yes,he did.

He would not event let a little bird come to me.
He would chase everyone away.

He was so jealous!!!

One day, we were walking along the road.
I,The master and he,the proud Yappy.

All at once,a big black dog jumped in front of me,growling.
I was very frightened and I screamed.
There was no one around to help me.
I was terrified.

But .............my YAPPY was there.

He was so quick.
He ran at the big black dog and growled as i had never heard before.
And he fought and fought with the big dog.

Oh,poor yappy! He was no match for the big dog.
I was very worried about him.

But ......,do you know what happened?
MY BRAVE YAPPPY WON!!!!!!!!!!

The big black dog got very scared and ran away like a frightened puppy,with his tail between his legs.

Then,my Yappy came back to me like a hero.
Yes,indeed,he was a hero.He saved me.
I knew he really loved me very much.

I was so happy.
I was so proud of my bodyguard.
Yappy,the bodyguard!!!My bodyguard!!!

I saluted him,like this.

Let's play Hopscotch

Mrs.Dawkins decided to make the most of fine weather by washing the tiles along her garden path.
And she was very proud of her work!
"that's a good job done!"she said,smiling."now,to get on with the washing...."
Not long afterwards,Nadine,Lee,Theresa and Alan came along.they were on holiday from school and wondering what to do on such a beautiful day.
"shall we play hopscotch?"Theresa suggested."look,I've got some chalk!"
"And I've got four counters,"added lee,feeling in his pockets.
The two boys began chalking lines on Mrs. Dawkins'clean garden path!

What on earth would she say?

Next,the two boys shared out the counters.
"Who's first?"asked Nadine.
just then,mrs.dawkins came out of her house.The children knew something must be wrong,from the way she looked at the chalk marks.
"well,that does not seem too serious!"said the old lady at last.
"You can carry on playing!"
"thank you Mrs.Dawkins!"said the children."We'll wash your path afterwards!"
"that,"smiled Mrs.Dawkins,"is a good idea,a very good idea,indeed!"

not a good idea....

Matthew is a clever boy,but he does not like working hard.Instead,he likes finding short cuts and thinking up ways to make life easy!
For instance,one day,he was out with his little sister.she wanted a ride on the sledge,but Matthew was not going to pull her along.Oh,no!He wanted a ride,too!So,he threaded a long card through the collar of Mowgli,his next-door neighbor's dog,who he was supposed to be taking for a walk....
To keep Mowgli still,Matthew gave him a whole bag of popcorn which his mother had maid.
"Now,let's go!"he told the big dog,pleased when Mowgli started off at quite a pace.
All went well when they kept in a straight line-but at the first bend....
Disaster!The  cord broke and Matthew and his sister were thrown to the ground.
Poor Mathew!He was the one who had to pull the

sledge and his sister all the way home,after all-not Mowgli!
